What is the Council Safe?

The Council Safe is a Safe address with limited administrative permissions in a Gardens community.

The role of the Council Safe is to curate a healthy community where members can fulfill the Covenant to the best of their ability.

It can do this in 2 ways: both through its embedded smart contract permissions and through cultural “soft” leadership, both designed to ignite a passionate collective of people into constructive action.

What smart contract permissions does the Council Safe have?

The Council Safe alone can:

• Edit community settings
• Create Conviction Voting Pools
• Update settings & parameters in active Conviction Voting Pools

The Council Safe does NOT have permission to:

• Override conviction calculations in Conviction Voting Pools
• Rule on disputes of proposals in Conviction Voting Pools
• Prevent unhappy community members from creating a competing community and Council Safe in the same token ecosystem.

What “soft” cultural responsibilities does the Council Safe have?

Aside from its smart contract permissions, an effective Council Safe will:

• Help establish positive social norms in the community
